International experience, anchored in Peru.

Orateva brings together experience in forest and carbon projects across several countries, including projects developed in Peru and direct knowledge of field implementation.

Why Orateva exists

Orateva develops forest projects directly with communities, from the first study of the territory through long-term monitoring.

We stay involved in the fieldwork, help organise the agreements, prepare operations and follow results throughout the life of the project.

This allows us to take clear responsibility for the work and only present as confirmed what has actually been verified.

Three commitments

  1. 01

    The territory comes first

A project is designed from what the land can carry and from the practices already in place, not from a carbon target chosen in advance.

  2. 02

    Communities decide with us

Roles, commitments and benefit sharing are defined together and written down. Published information should reflect agreed facts and the project's actual stage.

  3. 03

We name the stage we are at

Design, validation, registration and verification are distinct steps. We say which one a project has actually reached, and we date what we publish.

One territory at a time

Orateva is now exploring Project Puna with the Cahuide community, in Santiago de Chuco, La Libertad.

The first work is practical: identify the land the community may propose, review ownership and current uses, visit the areas, and determine whether the conditions allow a forest carbon project to be developed.

Other projects in Peru, in Latin America or elsewhere will follow once this one is consolidated and the local, technical and financial conditions allow it.

The experience behind the work

The team works between Europe and Latin America and brings experience from forest and carbon projects in different countries, including Peru.

We combine experience in project development, work with communities, forestry, field operations, carbon monitoring and international coordination.

Let's talk about what you need.
